Description

Special Technique/Craft:Traditionally Kalamkari is a style of hand painting done on fabric with a pen, using natural dyes. The word Kalamkari is derived from a Persian word where 'kalam' means pen and 'kari' refers to craftsmanship. Nowadays Kalamkari is a type of hand-painted or block-printed textile, wherein motifs are essentially printed with hand-carved traditional blocks painted by hands using a pen. Motifs drawn in Kalamkari spans from flowers, peacock, and paisleys to divine characters of Hindu epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana.Design:Region: Andhra Pradesh and Madhya PradeshColour: brownPaisley printedBand collarLong, regular sleevesStraight shape with regular styleKnee length with straight hemMachine weave regular cottonCraft: Kalamkari Disclaimer:This is a handcrafted shirt, and is prone to colour bleeding due to use of natural dyesThe print on the garment might be uneven owning to the handcrafted nature of the product, adding essence to the garment.Taavi uses sustainable thread for the manufacturing of its garments.
